Two years ago, Paula Mendoza traveled to Barcelona to meet with the TOUS team and get an up-close look at the world of one of jewelry's most recognized brands.
That meeting opened the door to a collaboration that would take two years to become a reality. From the start, the goal was to find a point of connection between two identities that already had a language of their own. On one hand, the TOUS bear, one of jewelry's most recognizable icons. On the other, Paula Mendoza's spheres, the figure that defines Paula's identity.
The challenge was bringing them together without either one losing what makes it recognizable.
And from that meeting, TOUS X Paula Mendoza is born.
THE BEAR ENTERS PAULA'S WORLD
For this collaboration, Paula took the TOUS bear as her starting point and brought it into her own design language. The spheres, protagonists of many of her creations, become part of the bear's silhouette, transforming it and giving it a new dimension.
The result is the PM Bear: a reinterpretation of one of TOUS's great icons, seen through Paula Mendoza's sculptural, contemporary lens.
AN IDEA THAT TOOK TWO YEARS
Behind a collaboration like this lies time, conversations, and countless design decisions.
For Paula, it all began with an idea — and that feeling that shows up when a concept starts to make sense.
"When you're a designer and you feel like you have an idea, something happens, and suddenly you just know it's going to work. That's the perfect test."
Two years after that first meeting in Barcelona, that idea has become a collection.
TWO WORLDS, ONE SHARED VISION
TOUS and Paula Mendoza arrive at this collaboration from different stories, but with something in common: the ability to build symbols that become recognizable.
This time, the TOUS bear meets Paula's spheres. The result is a new interpretation of the icon, where the identity of both brands lives together in a single piece.
